What Is Mercurius Solubilis?

Mercurius Solubilis is a specially prepared homeopathic form of mercury, developed by Hahnemann himself to be safer for potentization than raw mercury compounds, and is a widely used remedy for infections characterized by discharge, excessive salivation, and a distinctive sensitivity to temperature extremes.

Mercurius Solubilis Versus Hepar Sulphuris: Two Infection Remedies Compared

Both Mercurius and Hepar Sulphuris (Chapter 35) are associated with infections and discharge, but Hepar Sulphuris is particularly known for extreme sensitivity to pain and touch along with chilliness and irritability, while Mercurius is distinguished by its dual heat-and-cold sensitivity, profuse salivation, and characteristic nighttime worsening — features Hepar Sulphuris’s picture does not emphasize.
